Synopsis:

Standalone in the rock star romance series, Pandemic Sorrow.

My life had been no fairy tale. Actually, growing up, it had been something more like a nightmare, which is why I ended up so hard. When you don't want to hurt having the ability to be numb is your best defense mechanism. And for a long time all I was doing was existing.

Jag Steele, the lead singer of the international rock band Pandemic Sorrow, was the epitome of everything I despised: arrogant, entitled, but the thing I hated most about him was that he was an addict. Drugs had been the demon that had ruined everything in my life, and anyone who had a love affair with them pretty much made my stomach turn. It brought up memories I wanted to stay buried. Needless to say, I wasn't exactly a fan of Jag.

Funny thing is, people aren't always who you expect them to be. Never in a million years would I have thought the night I meet Jag would have any significance on the rest of my life, but it did.

I found out that sometimes something that screams utter destruction might actually be your saving grace.

Some people may say our story is too screwed up to be a romance, but for two broken people, we made the pieces fit together perfectly.

My Review:

Roxy by Stevie J. Cole was AMAZING! I was hooked from the beginning to the end, Jag and Roxy's story was your Cinderella and Prince Charming mixed with fame and drugs.  Roxy's start in life was not one to brag about, her mother died when she was six, her dad turned to drugs. She suffered more misery, betrayal and loss in her early life not one person ever deserves. She was emotionally isolated thinking this was the only way she could survive life. Even though she was cold to the world, she could never run from the emotional and physical scars she carries as her daily reminder of where she came from and what she will always deserve. The day she crossed paths with Jag Steele, the sexy Rock God and lead singer of Pandemic Sorrow, her life shifted. Her heart and mind betrayed her and she could not fight her unexplainable desire for this man.  She tried to hate him, avoid him, but fate had other plans.

Jag Steele, leader singer for Pandemic Sorrow, was living life to the extreme as a famous Rock Star. He consumed himself with drugs, woman, and money. He had everything yet he was completely numb. He was another one not so perfect, he had his own inner demons that he was trying to forget. Once all the makeup, lights, drugs, and pretending stopped, Jag was real.

Jag and Roxy’s relationship was truly a raw and emotional pairing. Jag needed fixing, he needed real. Roxy was so broken from childhood, her heart was so hard towards love, and she needed also needed fixing. The two together were a strong dynamic fit for survival.

Stevie J. Cole did not make their road an easy one. Stevie bought back demons and memories which caused never ending rattle to their cages. She made it raw with grit and emotion making the story of Roxy and Jag so amazing you will not be able to put the book down. I also appreciate Stevie focusing on the story instead of sex on every other page. This book is not about sex, it is about surviving life and finding what makes you whole again. I give Roxy 5 stars!

Even though this is a standalone, why not grab Jag and Rush. Read their story before Roxy is released!
